Artist's Description

I love to see the first first blooms from the almond trees. In form, blossoms, and fruit it resembles the peach tree. Its blossoms are of a very pale pink colour, and appear before its leaves. Its Hebrew name, shaked, signifying "wakeful, hastening," is given to it on account of its putting forth its blossoms so early, generally in February, and sometimes even in January. In Israel it is the first tree to blossom and the last to be harvested, so it spans the whole agricultural year.

They have visited many of the greatest Art Museums of the world. Rita typically spends 2-4 months a year out of the country in support of her charitable endeavors. Rita's artwork is a visual representation of her many unique cultural and spiritual experiences. Purchases made through FAA will help support needy children in ISRAEL. Rita developed an interest in art during her early college days in Brazil. She came to meet and marry an American man, then moved to the United States in 1984.
